Your children, and all their friends, will enjoy the summer in your backyard with these children water games and summer activities.

1. Jump Water. Run your garden hose back and forth like a snake under your child’s feet, making them jump over it! With more people involved, whoever’s feet don’t get wet — wins!

2. Limbo. Turn your garden hose on strong and use the stream as the stick for limbo.

3. Backyard Bath. Fill your kiddie pool with water and bath toys and make bath time fun.

4. Ball Blast. Use jump rope to square off a portion of your backyard. Place balls of varying sizes and weights inside the square. Give your child a hose and challenge them to push the balls out of the square with water.

5. Balloon Face. Fill up a water balloon and draw a face on it with marker. Give to your child and see how long they can keep their “face” — before it pops.

6. Water-Gun Tag. When the temperature heats up, it makes playing outside difficult. With this spin on the classic game, you can stay cool when you’re tagged!

7. Freeze Treasure. Place small treasures (plastic bugs, toy car) in an ice cube tray, add water and freeze. Then challenge your child to melt the ice in their hand until they find the treasure.

8. Sponge Toss. Grab two buckets and only fill water in one. Challenge your children to transfer the water from one bucket to the other bucket only using the sponge.

9. Water plants. Have your children help with the chores and give them some water! Give toddlers a spray bottle and have them water the plants, give older children the hose.
