On Saturday, December 6, sales associates and employees from the Shorewest, REALTORS® family of companies gathered at Klemmer’s Banquet Hall to share the spirit of the season with approximately 300 southeastern-Wisconsin youth — painting faces, eating food and having fun. Plus, Santa Claus and his elves made a surprise visit to give gifts, hats, mittens and cookies to the children.

Annually, people in the Shorewest family of companies give thousands of dollars and hours to Christmas is for Kids. That money and time provides books throughout the year, back-to-school supplies in the fall and the holiday party. Christmas is for Kids is for children of every background and every southeastern Wisconsin neighborhood whose families could use a little help during the holidays. Shorewest began this wonderful event in 1984. Since its inception in 1984, we have helped more than 10,000 kids enjoy Christmas to its fullest.

“Each year I am amazed and humbled by the outpouring of generosity from everyone at Shorewest and its family of companies toward Christmas is For Kids,” says Christine Rohr-Caponigro. “From the example set by the members of the executive office preparing food at the actual party, John Horning dressing up as Santa Claus and every donation of time and money all year long from the sales associates and support staff. Every effort is repaid a hundred fold when you see the excitement and happiness on each shining little face at the actual event.”

Additionally, Shorewest delivered over 75 gifts, including wrapped presents, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hats, scarves, mittens and candy, to Milwaukee’s Salvation Army’s Emergency Lodge for Families.
